In the packaging sector, biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film is the most used material; actually BOPP constitutes two-thirds of all biaxially oriented films. In a lamination, they provide printability, transparent or matte appearance, or slip properties. The film provides a surface suitable for receiving organic or inorganic coatings for gas and moisture barrier properties. The films also provides a heat sealable layer for bag forming and sealing, or a layer that is suitable for receiving an adhesive either by coating or by laminating. However, BOPP is a nondegradable material, and as is the case with other packaging materials derived from fossil fuel resources, there is a tendency to replace them with packaging materials derived from renewable resources due to concerns with the disposal of these bulky materials, generation of greenhouse gases, and depletion of fossil fuel resources.
1. Enhance the finished product's value through high transparency and super gloss finish. Prevent lamination from being pressed, bubbled and desquamated. Protect from harmful substances and water-proof, making long life storage for printings.
2. Available in various paper and inks, and suitable for lamination even with powder paper. After be treated with corona on the surface, it is good for spot UV and hot stamping.
3. Excellent cost saving as mixing of adhesive, coating and drying processes are not required. The operation doesn't ask for special technique and the film can be used in dry and wet laminator.
4. Environmental friendly, pollution-free working environment. No hazardous to health and secure to use as no toxic gases or volatile content is emitted.
Although PVC film has excellent quality assurance, some people may say that PVC is a chemical product after all, it is not comparable to natural materials, toxicity and odor cannot be ruled out, and it will inevitably cause harm to the environment. The fact is not the case. This is because the raw materials for the production of PVC films are specially refined and toxic substances are completely extracted. Therefore, PVC is completely non-toxic and tasteless, and does not cause any irritation to human skin or respiratory system. For people allergic to wood and paint, furniture or kitchen utensils wrapped in PVC film are very suitable.
